This sculpture is an allegorical representation of the relationship between human and mind. Human is literally trying to get out of the brain. He is eager to liberate himself from the brain control. The angelic creature is trying to help set him free, while his own hand is keeping him a hostage of his mind. At the end it looks like we do have rather tricky relationship with the mind. The scientists confirm that our brain takes a decision just few seconds before we realise it ourselves. When we try to be ourselves we easily get into the trap.
