This sculpture belongs to SEARCH — a rare and intimate collection of hand-modeled clay busts, created during Elisaveta Sivas’ profound artistic and spiritual quest between 2016 and 2022.

In "Not in the Body, not in the Mind", the artist reflects on a fundamental realization: the most essential, magical part of our being does not reside in the physical body or in the analytical mind. Even before her spiritual awakening, Sivas intuited that our true essence is elsewhere — a luminous core that transcends form and matter.

Today, through the lens of her expanded understanding, the work resonates even deeper: it anticipates the idea that the human experience unfolds through three aspects of the Self — Higher Self, Lower Self and Absolute Spirit. Spirit manifests through the brain, receiving inspiration through the right hemisphere, translating it into form through the left, and finally grounding it in the body. The sculpture thus becomes a timeless metaphor for this invisible yet palpable process of incarnation.

With its minimalist contours, smooth light sandstone surface, and contemplative presence, the piece embodies both fragility and strength. It is not only a work of art but also a reminder to seek the unspoken, to listen beyond the visible, and to reconnect with the essence that unites us all.

Collection SEARCH — a rare and completed chapter

The SEARCH collection marks a now-completed chapter in Sivas’ evolution. Each sculpture from this period stands as a rare, unrepeatable artifact of her inner transformation. This makes Not in the Body, not in the Mind not only a work of profound philosophical depth, but also a collector’s treasure of museum quality.
